I found it extremely valuable learned from Welch et al that when you see rising incidence coupled with a flat mortality then you are looking at overdiagnosis. It is an opaque but very important subject in clinical medicine. Yes shared decision making takes time but is obligatory to fully inform our patients. Thank you for this discussion.
